Cheapest way to get from Edinburgh Airport to Dundee by bus

If you want to travel from Dundee to Edinburgh Airport (or Edinburgh Airport to Dundee) you can take the Mega Bus UK (Scottish Citylink) buses. The bus journey can take anything from 1 hour and 40 minutes up to 2 hours and 10 minutes depending on which departure you choose.

Not only is travelling by bus the cheapest way to get from Seagate Bus Station in Dundee to Edinburgh Airport (EDI), with fares as low as £5.25 for a single journey, it is also the most convenient way to travel as there are direct bus services to the airport.

• You can buy single tickets from £5.25 but these cheap Megabus fares are limited and you are unlikely to find a cheap ticket for last minute bookings.
• Standard tickets are priced at between £10.25 and £19.25 for a single ticket
• Megabus does operate cheap £1 fares on some routes, however these are not available for this particular service.

Why travel to Edinburgh Airport on the bus instead of the train?

Bus travel between Dundee and Edinburgh is not only cheaper but it is far more convenient as there is no train station at Edinburgh Airport. If you do go by train you will need to get a connecting Airlink 100 bus from Edinburgh Waverley or Edinburgh Haymarket railway station which takes around 30 minutes and leaves every 10 or 20 minutes.

Cost-wise it is also more sensible to take Megabus rather than the train as it can cost between around £15 and £40 for a return ticket to the centre of Edinburgh, depending on how far in advance you book, plus the cost of the Airlink 100 transfer to Edinburgh Airport which costs another £3.50 for a single journey or £6 for a return ticket.
